I managed to finish off a couple of books during this past cycle through the line-up. Here's where I'm at:
- Fantasy: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab (9%)
- Sci-Fi: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (100%)
- Realistic Fiction: Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch (100%)
- Young Readers: Old Yeller by Fred Gipson (100%)
- Brandon Sanderson: The Frugal Wizard's Handbook for Surviving Medieval England (73%)
- Nonfiction: The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt (53%)
- Classic: Les Misérables by Victor Hugo (5%)
- Mystery/Thriller: The Brothers Hawthorne by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (18%)
- Historical Fiction: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (100%)
- Audio: Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake (66%)
- English Department Book Club: Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor (35%)
I decided in the course of this rotation that I was going to just add my book club books into the rotation. When it get close to discussion time, I'll stop rotating and focus on that one book until it's done. This came after starting the Okorafor book, and truth be told, I'm not enjoying it. I am more likely to finish it if I keep rotating. If I have to focus on it, I really might end up DNF'ing it because I can't stand the main character.
Anyway, onto dice rolls for the new categories. I need sci-fi, realistic fiction, young readers, and historical fiction. I'm so excited to have so many categories to roll for all at once!
Sci-Fi:
For sci-fi, I rolled a d10 and got 7 - which is Legend by Marie Lu. My sister will be really excited haha.
Realistic Fiction
For realistic fiction, I rolled a d6 and got 3 - Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I've had this one since my favorite birthday bookstore trip, and I haven't read it. But my coworker said it's good, so... Here we go!
Young Readers
For young readers, I rolled a percentile and a d10 and got 22 which is The Fledgling. I know nothing about this book - I think it's about a horse? I don't know, we'll find out!
Historical Fiction
I rolled a d10 and got 2 which is Apierogon. This book is about Israel if I remember correctly. I bought it to read over the summer a long time ago because one of my coworkers was interested in it, but I ended up not being able to get to it. Since then, it's sat on my shelf waiting to be read. It's interesting to get this one now with current events.
